Science after Noon: science journalism - how young people can make their voices heard

To launch the Prix Média Newcomer 2021 public voting, the two candidates Chloé Carrière and Simone Pengue present their projects «Galactic Chloé Show: Exoplanets and Astronomy with Michel Mayor and Claude Nicollier» and «Forgotten data: the leftovers of science». We talk with the two candidates and young scientists and science journalists about their passion for science journalism and communication. What sparked their interest in the field? How can young people get started in science journalism?

  • Chloé Carrière, Master student in Management and Technology with a focus on Space Innovation at EPFL,  founder of Space@yourService and Prix Média Newcomer 2021 finalist
  • Dr. Fanny Georgi, Virologist, responsible for Faculty Affairs and Professorial Appointments at the Faculty of Science, University of Zurich and member of the Swiss Young Academy
  • Simone Pengue, PhD candidate in biophysics at the University of Basel, Freelance science journalist, Prix Média Newcomer 2021 finalist
  • Stephanie Schnydrig, Science Journalist at Keystone-SDA, board member of the Swiss Association of Science Journalists ASJS
